Scorecard
- Out of Bounds (OB) is defined by white
stakes or the furthest outside points of the perimeter fence. On
holes 8, 12 & 18 the northern rail of the train track defines OB. On
holes 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10 & 11 the inside edge of the curb defines OB.
The putting green, the grass island with the flagpole, all paved areas
around the clubhouse and all parking lots are OB. The white OB
stakes on hole 11 pertain only when playing hole 11.
- Water Hazards
are defined by yellow stakes, Lateral Water
Hazards are defined by red stakes or lines.
- If a player's ball strikes an
Overhead Power Line, the planer must
disregard that stroke and play another ball.
- If a Protective
Screen interferes with a player's stance, swing or line of
play to the green, the player may obtain free relief at the nearest
point which a) avoids the interference and b) is not nearer the hole.
On holes 6, 13, 17, & 18 the player may cross to the other side of the
screen to satisfy a) and b) even though it may not be the nearest point.
On hole 6 the player must go to the drop area.
- Newly Planted
Trees marked with a tag or supported by stakes are
Obstructions.
- Embedded Ball
Rule is in effect.

Addendum to the Local Rules
- Distance Measuring
Devices -
For all play at this course, a player may obtain distance information by
using a device that measures distance only. However, if, during a
stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is
designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play
(e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach
of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of
whether any such additional functions are actually used.
- Perimeter Fences
- wherever a perimeter fence is present, its furthest outside points*
shall define the out of bounds. Because they define the out of
bounds, the perimeter fences are an "integral part of the golf course" (no
relief). On hole 17, immediately to the right of the green, the
concrete retaining wall is deemed to be not part of the perimeter fence
and thus, is an obstruction.
- Embedded Ball Rule
- through the green, a ball that is embedded inits own pitch-mark in the
ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and
dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole.
The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course "through the
green".
- Newly Planted Trees
- the berm around the base of all newly planted tress is "ground under
repair".
- Hole #5 - For
a ball in the hazard (off the tee), proceed under Rule 26 or as an
additional option, add a penalty stroke and go to the drop area.
- Hole #17 -
for the purposes of playing "preferred lies" the fairway is deemed to
extend down to the concrete retaining wall.
- Hole #17 - If
a player's ball strikes any part of the Stevenson
Creek Monitoring Station**, the player shall disregard that stroke
and play another ball.
- Note: The putting green, the grass
island with the flagpole and all paved areas around the clubhouse are Out
of Bounds. All parking lots are out of bounds. On the cart
paths proceeding down #1 and #10, a ball past the white posts is "in
bounds", a ball short of the white posts and on the paved area is "out of
bounds".
- Note: if a player's ball is in a
hazard and that player chooses to take relief from a
Protective Screen under Local Rule 4 on the scorecard, he or she
must add a penalty stroke if, in taking the relief, the
ball is removed from the hazard.
- Note: there is no reference in the
Local Rules to relief from hedges or bushes under a specific size.
- Note: The status of the
railroad tracks and surrounding ballast is
covered under the Rules of Golf, Section II, Definitions, Obstructions.
If your ball is in bounds and the tracks and/or ballast interfere with
your stance or swing you must preceed in accordance with Rule
24-Obstructions.
- Note: The chain link enclosure for
the well-head on hole 8 is an Obstruction. The is no line-of-play
relief.
* because the "furthest outside points"
define the out of bounds, a ball up against the fence is "in bounds"
(although probably unplayable). Proceed in accordance with Rule
28-Ball Unplayable.
** the Stevenson Creek Monitoring Station
is the device attached to the concrete retaining wall on the east side of
the creek near the golf car bridge.
